NEWS:

SMITHSONIAN EXHIBITION: The maquette for Maria’s GSA public art project in Arizona entitled Bien Venida y Vaya Con Dios was on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. from May 31, 2019 through June 6, 2020. The exhibition, Sculpture Down to Scale: Models for Public Art at Federal Buildings, 1974–1985, featured the work of nine artists including luminaries Claes Oldenburg, Frank Stella, Beverly Pepper, Peter Voulkos.

ACQUISITIONS: The Museum of Northern California Art (MONCA) in Chico, CA, acquired 26 of Maria’s paintings and sculptures for their permanent collection.

The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA, acquired Maria’s painting, Easter in Oaxaca, Mexico for their permanent collection as well as a set of her triptych of original lithographs, The Divine Comedy.
