Smithsonian Exhibition: The maquette for Maria’s GSA public art project in Arizona entitled Bien Venida y Vaya Con Dios will be on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. from May 31, 2019 through June 6, 2020. The exhibition, Sculpture Down to Scale: Models for Public Art at Federal Buildings, 1974–1985, features the work of nine artists including luminaries Claes Oldenburg, Frank Stella, Beverly Pepper, Peter Voulkos.

Acquisitions: The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA, acquired Maria’s painting, Easter in Oaxaca, Mexico for their permanent collection as well as a set of her triptych of original lithographs, The Divine Comedy.
